KARA ZIMMER

After having her second child and crediting her Pilates practice with maintaining a strong mind and body during and after pregnancy, Kara decided to change her career path. She received her certification in Pilates mat and reformer from Breathe Education, one of Australia’s top Pilates training programs, where she also earned her certifications in Fitness and Allied Health Assistance (2014). This was a 300+ hour evidence-based program with a strong focus on anatomy and biomechanics, and designing individualized programs based on each persons’ goals. She has also continued her apparatus training at Core with Lexy Shelton. Kara is a certified Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (2014), and holds a BA and MA in Organizational Psychology. Kara has a passion for all things health and wellness. Prior to her Pilates career, she spent 15+ years in the corporate HR space until shifting her focus to wellness in the workplace, including Pilates. Realizing the stresses placed on the body and mind in today’s world, she strives to help others reset and maintain balance through strength and stretch - and sweat! Her workouts are strong and powerful as she aims to help busy individuals find their balance, through movement, exercise and healthier habits. She has experience teaching and coaching across the globe, and has been with Core since returning to the States from Melbourne, Australia in 2016. She lives in Rye with her young family and dog Charlie.
